Can’t Forget

I have no words
When I feel this way
Sadness and angst
From you and for you

My hands go numb
When I allow my heart
To take the journey back
Towards the start of this road

I can’t forget the finale
The unwinding of the story
A frayed and tattered end

I can’t forget the future
Threads divorced from tapestry
Allowed to weave again

Questions on Truth

I clench my jaw
As the world turns
Is there respite?

Is there grace for the weary?
Is there strength for the weak?
Or is it all myth?
Is myth as powerful as truth?

Is truth more the power of an idea
Than its accuracy?
The outcome of a belief
More than that belief’s validity?

One can have knowledge
Of the machinery of the universe
But do they possess truth?
Does that knowledge inspire?
Is truth really just inspiration?

Relate

via Daily Prompt: Relate

It’s you and me in this nightmare
That’s as often as pleasant as it is painful
Shared dreams, shared cracks in the shell
Humanity intertwined

Let’s not forget each other in the maze
My dead ends need your ways through
And my soul needs the one that belongs to you

Daily Prompt: Patina

via Daily Prompt: Patina

Years are a purifier
Straining and sifting
Polishing the edges
Gems refined

You and I are rough hewn stones
Pulled from the dirt
And returning to it
Wizened by time

There is value in age
A shimmer to experience
Lessons learned
Gems refined
